  • Who are you?
    Emma is an avid walkers and knows the Peak District, Lake District and North Wales like their own back garden. She has more than 15 years experience in the hospitality, leisure and travel industries and are excited to show you some of her favourite walking routes and hidden gems. Embark offers fully customised, guided and self-guided walking tours tailored to your fitness levels and requirements. We also work with a number of extremely experienced guides from all over the UK so no matter where you want to go, what you want to see or how big your group is we look forward to planning your next adventure.
  • How fit do I need to be?
    All of our walking tours are fully customised and tailored to your requirements, just let us know where you want to go, what you want to see and how tough you want your walk to be and we'll do the rest .... be it a relaxing 4 miles stroll through the Cheshire countryside or a tough 20 mile mountain explorer we've got you covered. If, while out on your walk, you find the route a little too challenging or too easy, we can change it. All our walks are customised to you and your wishes.
  • What's included in the price?
    All return transfers are included in the price of your trip; you will be collected (and dropped off at) at a local airport/train station/bus station and taken to your accommodation or the start of your walk (in which case your luggage will be transferred to your accommodation for you). An evening meal and drink are included for each evening of your stay. Packed lunches, snacks, refreshements and a Full English breakfast are also included. A private guide will be available to take you on your walking tour - customised to your fitness, wishes and requirements. You will also receive an exclusive Embark t shirt. After your walking tour we will send you some pictures and a short, personalised video clip (with some incredible drone footage) of your walking tour for your to relive and remember your adventure for many years to come.
  • What are your booking conditions and cancellation policies?
    We ask for a non-refundable £50 deposit per person upon booking and then full payment 6 weeks prior to departure. As outlined in our terms and conditions our cancellation policy is shown below: Cancellations and Cancellation Policy: Cancellation by the Customer: Cancelling or amending a booking with Embark Travel Ltd may result in cancellation/amendment fees being applied by Embark Travel Ltd as outlined in the below cancellation policy. Any cancellation/amendment must be communicated via e-mail to We are unable to accept cancellations via Facebook Messenger or post comments. A booking is considered successfully cancelled or amended only after Embark Travel Ltd send successful notifications via email and cancellation/amendment fees are assessed. The customer will be charged on the following basis: Deposits are non-refundable for all walks and tours. (In some cases we may be able to transfer the deposit to another tour/date – this can be discussed on a case by case basis.) 50% of the total fee where cancellation takes places less than four weeks but more than two weeks before the commencement date of the tour. 100% of the total fee where cancellation takes place less than 2 weeks before the commencement of the tour or in case of a no show. We may be able to move your booking to another date with adequate notice depending on availability. Please contact us at if you have any questions. We strongly advise that you take out cancellation insurance for your trip in case you need to cancel due to medical reasons, weather or unforeseen circumstances. Cancellation by Embark Travel Ltd: (Reasons not related to extreme circumstances.) If Embark Travel Ltd need to cancel a tour due to unforeseen circumstances or events, we will notify you as soon as possible. This may be due to circumstances out of our control. If the tour is cancelled (not relating to weather/extreme circumstances) you will be offered: The option to move the tour to another date. The exact same tour on different dates or an alternative tour equal, at least, to monies paid. Voucher to be used for another tour. A full refund of monies paid.
  • Can I bring my dog?
    Yes, dogs are more than welcome on our tours! Although, this may limit some of the accommodation options available to you. In fact our Embark dog Rory will always be happy to accompany many of the tours.
  • What group size do you take?
    Our standard tours have no minimum numbers and we can cater up to 8 people. Single supplement prices may apply. We are able to cater for larger groups (more than 8 people with no maximum numbers) if booked well in advance of the tour commencement date.
  • Are your tours suitable for children?
    Yes; as all of our tours are tailored made to you we can put together a tour suitable for you and your children. Contact us for some ideas.
  • What type of accommodation will I be staying in?
    We use a variety of accommodation from luxury 4* hotels, boutique bed and breakfasts and traditional, country bed and breakfasts depending on your personal preference. All of the accommodation we use has been visited and inspected by us to ensure high standards and a great trip.
  • Do you offer day tours?
    Absolutely; if you have a trip already planned and would like a customised, escorted day trip with transfers to and from your hotel please get in touch - we would be delighted to help you plan your next adventure.
